We turned up the fiesta across campus today with a celebration full of color, flavor, and fun! Residents enjoyed mock margaritas, tiny sombreros, and plenty of chips & queso because no party is complete without a little spice and a lot of smiles.

With this beautiful patio weather, it was the perfect day to sip, snack, and soak up the sunshine together.

We like to think our fiesta was *nacho average party*…

We brought a little galaxy far, far away right into our bistro today with a fun pop-up celebration of this beloved (and delightfully unofficial) holiday! 🚀💫

Residents enjoyed themed treats like Jedi Juice, laughs, and plenty of lighthearted fun as we embraced the spirit of adventure, imagination, and community. From clever nods to iconic characters to out-of-this-world camaraderie, it was a day filled with joy and connection.

Who says you can’t mix a little intergalactic fun with feeling right at home?

What a wonderful way to kick off the season! Our community came together to enjoy some incredible homemade favorites from fresh zucchini bread to delicious mixed berry and carrot cake jams. And of course, a crowd favorite… Chef Yvrose’s famous Rosa salsa!

It was a beautiful day filled with great flavors, smiling faces, and a true sense of community. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

Our residents turned simple ingredients into something truly beautiful during our cake decorating activity! Each resident had their own giant slice of cake to design, decorate, and enjoy and the creativity was just as sweet as the frosting.

Just like baking a cake, it’s the little things that come together a bit of fun, a dash of creativity, and time spent with friends that make everyday moments so special.

Today at our community, we brought a little *Derby magic* to assisted living and it was a winner across the board! Residents had a blast cheering on their horses in our friendly races and sipping on refreshing mocktail mint juleps.

Laughter, friendly competition, and a touch of Southern charm made for an unforgettable day. It’s moments like these that remind us joy can be found in the simplest (and most spirited!) traditions.

We were truly honored to host a special viewing of “Where the Horses Heal the Soul” featuring the incredible work of ROCK (Ride On Center for Kids) right here in Georgetown, Texas.

Having Nancy Krenek join us made the experience even more meaningful. Her passion and dedication brought the story to life in a way that deeply resonated with everyone in the room.

The documentary left a lasting impression on our residents sparking emotion, reflection, and admiration for the powerful bond between humans and horses. It’s a beautiful reminder of the strength of the human spirit and the incredible healing that comes through equine therapy.

Our Assisted Living residents kicked off our very first *Charms Cooking Club* with a delicious and fun-filled experience! Together, they created sweet chicken salad sandwiches paired with fresh strawberries and it was a hit.

This new monthly club is all about bringing residents together, trying new recipes, and putting their cooking skills to the test. We love seeing the creativity, laughter, and connection that happens around the table.

Today we celebrated two truly special women who bring so much more than great hair to our community. Through their talent, care, and personal touch, they help our residents feel confident, refreshed, and seen.

This week at The Wesleyan assisted living, our Wellness Director hosted a refreshing hydration event that was a big success. Residents picked up helpful tips for staying hydrated as warmer days approach and enjoyed sampling a variety of infused waters—from citrus and mint to strawberry and lemon—offering something for everyone. It was a fun and flavorful way to focus on wellness, connection, and feeling your best every day.

The Red Poppy Festival is here, and at The Wesleyan, we brought the celebration home in the most vibrant (and delicious) way.

Our residents enjoyed a full day of Red Poppy festivities, from festive happy hour featuring specialty red poppy drinks to a lively performance by the Sun City Cloggers that had everyone smiling and tapping along.

And of course the menu! Our culinary team created a beautiful Red Poppy-inspired lunch featuring favorites like roasted carrot ginger velouté, balsamic grilled chicken with strawberry salsa, hibiscus braised short ribs, and a fresh beet & blueberry salad with poppyseed dressing. The sweet finish of lemon poppyseed cake and berry tart with edible flowers was the perfect touch to a truly special day.

Being connected to the heart of Georgetown isn’t just something we do it’s ingrained in who we are. Celebrating the traditions and joy of our local community is part of what makes life at The Wesleyan so meaningful. @visitgeorgetowntx
