New to this year’s criteria is an evaluation of resident satisfaction, drawing from data collected on National Safety Goals from The Joint Commission as well as Google Scores.

The Wesleyan Names CEO
GEORGETOWN, TX – The Board of Trustees of The Wesleyan, a nonprofit senior living and healthcare provider, announced the selection of Bethany Sisneroz as president and chief executive officer. Sisneroz had been serving as chief operating officer for The Wesleyan since June 2019. She succeeds Mark Lenhard who resigned in October to pursue another opportunity.
In announcing the decision, Board Chair Ed Komandosky said, “We were fortunate that we had many experienced applicants. In Sisneroz, we already had a proven leader with a deep understanding of The Wesleyan’s day-to-day operations.” The value of that experience comes at a critical time for The Wesleyan according to Komandosky.
On being named CEO, Sisneroz said, “My goal is that we maintain and fortify a financial foundation from which The Wesleyan can continue to grow and thrive.” The last years have been challenging everywhere in the healthcare industry. “Navigating through the global pandemic and aftermath has been a bit like riding a rollercoaster,” she said. “But, I am confident that The Wesleyan has a promising future in store and I am excited to be part of shaping that”, she added.
Sisneroz brings more than twenty years of experience in all levels of senior care. “My passion – transforming the culture of how care and how services are delivered – drives everything I do. Working with our staff, residents, board members, volunteers, and donors, will make The Wesleyan a place where people want to live and work for generations to come,” she said.
Sisneroz earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Southwest Texas State University. She is licensed as a Nursing Facility Administrator (LNFA) in the State of Texas. Prior to joining The Wesleyan, she served as Regional Vice President of Operations for organizations throughout Texas. She was the first administrator in Texas to receive the American Health Care Association’s Silver Quality Award for which she served as National Examiner. Sisneroz is a member of the College of Healthcare Executives.

The Wesleyan President and CEO Resigns
The Wesleyan’s President and CEO Mark Lenhard announced his resignation Friday, September 30.
“The reason is both personal and professional”, Lenhard explained in his video announcement to teammates, residents and family members. “As my wife and I move into the next season of our lives as ‘empty-nesters’ and considered our next steps, I was contacted by a search firm to consider a President/CEO role for a faith-based, non-profit organization serving seniors in the Northeast. This relocation will bring us closer to our extended family. I will be completing my service to The Wesleyan Friday, October 21.”
Lenhard expressed his appreciation to all who have been a part of his five years with The Wesleyan. “To the residents, I would like to say thank you for sharing your home with me. To my fellow teammates, I cannot tell you how much you have shaped who I am and I have incredible faith in your continued calling to serve in this ministry. Our Board of Trustees’ high level of engagement is only matched by their passion and compassion for The Wesleyan and its mission of service. And, to our donors, constituents and community leaders, please know the incredible gift to Georgetown that The Wesleyan has been for 60 years and will continue to be as it recommits itself to the achievement of abundant life for all those that we serve and for those with whom we serve. Bethany Sisneroz, The Wesleyan’s Chief Operations Officer has been appointed Interim President and CEO. Sisneroz has worked for The Wesleyan for three years and is intimately familiar with the organization’s operations and relationships.
The Wesleyan Welcomes Wound Care Specialist and Surgeon Scott A. Russell, MD, FACS
GEORGETOWN, TX – The Wesleyan, a faith-based, nonprofit senior living and healthcare provider that has served Central Texas residents and patients since 1962, welcomes Scott A. Russell, MD, FACS.
Dr. Russell will be performing weekly bedside wound management rounds at The Wesleyan Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Georgetown, TX.
A board-certified general surgeon, Dr. Russell is on staff at St. David’s Georgetown Hospital and is affiliated with Vohra Wound Physicians, whose wound management program has been noted by Ostomy Wound Management as greatly improving healing times, reducing infection and amputation rates, and reducing wound-related hospitalizations. Their wound outcomes are tracked and reported.
