GEORGETOWN, TX – The Wesleyan, a faith-based, nonprofit senior living and healthcare provider that has served Central Texas residents and patients since 1962, appointed Julia Kellcy, DO, as Hospice & Palliative Care Medical Director.

Dr. Kellcy grew up in Tuscola, TX, where she still resides and owns a farm. She graduated from Jim Ned High School and then attended Angelo State University. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree at Angelo State and graduated from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth with a Doctor of Osteopathy degree in 1991. She completed residencies in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, leaving the army in 1998 to pursue a private practice in New Braunfels, TX.

Dr. Kellcy’s medical experience is broad. She enjoyed a very successful private practice in New Braunfels, as well as serving as a physician in the intensive care unit at Christus Santa Rosa in New Braunfels for over 10 years. She currently works primarily as a hospice and palliative care physician, and is board certified in Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine.

Dr. Kellcy has been practicing medicine for over 30 years, and views it as a gift she can use to serve others and fulfill her mission — the pursuit of which she plans to continue for many years.

Along with her medical experience, she also has over 30 years of business management experience ranging from landscaping and construction to entertainment venues, boutiques, medspas, fitness studios and mobile home parks. She enjoys tennis, dancing, church, community activities and spending time with family.
